Threat of war in Sudan

The Age (12/11) reported the air force of the Government of Sudan bombed a refugee camp in independent South Sudan. It was reported that 12 people were killed and 20 injured. The mainly Christian and non-Arab South Sudan gain independence from Sudan (where the government is largely Arab Muslims) on 9 July, following a peace agreement that ended a two-decade civil war in 2005. The Government of South Sudan fears an invasion from the forces of Sudan. The Government of Sudan has lodged a complaint with the UN Security Council alleging South Sudan is supplying arms to insurgents fighting Sudanese forces in the border states of Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan.
