Just Take Action
The journey has begun
We have begun the investigation. We are gathering information about where Christian novelty items, including Bible covers, crucifixes, bracelets and gadgets, are being made. Visit your local Christian specialty shop and respectfully record for us what the item is, how much it costs, and where it was made. We are particularly interested in items made in China. Please note that we are working with Central Catholic Bookstore and UniChurch Books in Melbourne so there is no need to review their merchandise*.
*Stop Press: Good news – we are now in dialogue with Koorong, so please don’t bother them either! Word Bookstores, however, are still not engaging.
**Stop Press #2 (Nov 09): In what appears to be an Australian-first in the Christian goods industry Koorong have issued a Fair Trade Policy, covering the conditions under which the goods they stock should be produced.
Email your findings to JustAct to antony.mcmullen@victas.uca.org.au

Volunteers needed

Support change!
Wholesalers involved in the trade of Christian products have told us that many Australian orders ‘work off the back’ of very large US orders. Amanda Kloer at http://www.change.org/ has put together an excellent petition that supports our work. Please click on the petition link below, and take action!
Be part of the action
On the 5th of December Just Holy Hardware held an action at Word Bookstore. The Christmas themed action at Word Bookstore asked for dialogue about ethical manufacture of Christian products at their stores. Word has now agreed to enter into this dialogue.
Please contact Adrian.Greenwood@ctm.uca.edu.au for more information about future actions.
