On 10 April about 100 Christians from the Shouwang Church, an underground or ‘family’ church, were detained in Beijing after gathering at a park to hold an outside worship service.
Shouwang paid $3.9 million two years ago to buy a house to use as its family church, but the developer wants to scrap the contract under pressure from the Chinese government.
