The conference will explore in depth several conflicts in the Middle East including those involving Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran. Through lectures and powerpoint presentations by leading experts, question and answer sessions, small group discussions and simulation exercises the conference will provide an historical overview and an examination of the key issues in each conflict.
The conference runs from Sunday the 28th of June to Tuesday the 30th of June.

President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, Catherine Branson QC and Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Elizabeth Broderick, praised the federal government’s changes to the Support for Victims of People Trafficking Program and the People Trafficking Visa Framework today as humanitarian and compassionate improvements which will help people recover from appalling violations of their basic human rights.
According to an Indian church worker, the violence against Christians in the Indian state of Orissa last year was not a one-time event but the consequence of a fragmented society. However, the results of the recent general elections are heartening.
