Even the Waters Converge NCYC Film Brief
Callling all film makers – here’s your brief for NCYC09.
All the worship at convention will focus on the theme of water. The hope is to have film footage of all the waters from the places delegates have come from. NCYC is looking for film makers to create short (say 3 min) digital movies of their local water that could be looped and used in a variety of ways through the worship times at convention. These films might be projected while other stuff is happening, like prayers, so they need to be nonnarrative, no dialogue, and looped. The water could be
a slow flowing river…
a fast mountain stream…
a dry inland creek bed…
BIG surf… irrigation channels…
a fountain in the city…
even your local swimming pool… …whatever.
Sure the images can have people, or boats or surfboards or whatever – just no dialogue needed. You can include sound and/or music, but the film may be screened without sound. You could make it a group process and spend ages on it, or you could just go out one afternoon and catch 3mins worth of water action.
Tech requirements
Whatever video cam you are shooting on, make sure you choose your best settings, because we’ll be projecting BIG at convention. We’re looking for 16:9 aspect ratio (widescreen). In order of priority this is how we’d prefer your submissions:
1. MiniDV tape in either DV or HDV (best option – you can have your tape back after convention)
2. High resolution Quicktime movie (at least 720px wide – no AVI files please)
3. DVD
Send your submission by 30th October 2008 to: NCYC09 – Even the waters converge at the address -1 Morrison Close Parkville Victoria 3052
