Here is a joint statement from a number of key community bodies about the Federal Government’s intervention into indigenous Australian communities. This intervention is in response to the report Little Children are Sacred that looked into indigenous disadvantage in Australia. The report focused on three recommendations: the urgent need to respond, the critical nature of consultation and participation to develop a response, and the importance of a holistic approach. It appears in the Government’s response that they have only addressed the first recommendation in their response.
